TaylorMade Golf Tour Staff Professional Darren Clarke Claims Second Win of the Year Playing the New E-mail

TaylorMade Equipment also in Winner's Bags at Champions, Nationwide and U.S. Amateur Events

CARLSBAD, Calif. (August 25th, 2008) - TaylorMade Golf Tour Staff professional Darren Clarke's hope for a European Ryder Cup wild card birth got brighter as he captured his second European Tour victory of the season at the KLM Open in Holland, with a four-stroke victory over runner-up and fellow TaylorMade Tour staff professional Paul McGinley.

Clarke's 12th career European Tour victory was his second playing the new TaylorMade® TP Red™ ball with LDP technology. LDP stands for Low-Drag Performance, which is a proprietary aerodynamics technology developed to improve distance on the most common types of driver off center hits. McGinley also used the TP Red with LDP technology in posting a final-round 64 to catapult into second place at 12-under par.

Clarke, who earlier this year won the BMW Asian Open, plays #60 on his TaylorMade TP Red golf ball, which represents the lowest round he has ever carded. As part of a new program called MyTP Ball, TaylorMade Golf now gives golfers the opportunity to customize their own TaylorMade TP Red and TP Black™ golf balls by emblazoning a two-digit number of their choosing, anything from 00 to 99. Golfers can create and order their own TaylorMade TP Red or TP Black balls by visiting www.myTPball.com

It was the second week in a row the TaylorMade TP Red with LDP was in the winner's circle on the European Tour after Peter Hanson used the ball to claim the win at the SAS Masters in his native Sweden. For the 2008 season, the TP Ball has been used to win five European Tour events.

Clarke relied on the accuracy of his Burner® TP driver to help him nail nearly 70% of his fairways and the precision of his TaylorMade rac™ Forged TP irons to find 76% of greens in regulation (third in the field).*

Clarke's quest to make the European Ryder Cup squad will continue next week at The Johnnie Walker Championship on the Centenary Course at Gleneagles.

In Clarke's bag:

Driver: Burner TP 8.5°
Fairway Wood: Burner TP 13.0°
Irons: rac Forged TP irons (3-PW)
Ball: TaylorMade TP Red with LDP #60

TaylorMade equipment was also used by the winners of the Champions, Nationwide and U.S. Amateur events. At the Champions Tour's Boeing Classic, the winner played a TaylorMade Burner driver (9.5°) and a Burner 3-wood (13°). On the Nationwide Tour at the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic, Scott Piercy played an r7® 425 driver and a Burner 3-wood (14.5°) and 5-wood (17.5°). The winner of the U.S. Amateur relied on the new Tour Burner driver (8.5°) and a Tour Burner 3-wood (14.5°), in addition to the TaylorMade Targa Tour glove.
