Norcross, GA (October 12, 2010) – Mizuno, the #1 forged iron in golf, introduces the Grain Flow Forged MP-63™ irons with innovative Diamond Muscle technology for players who covet unsurpassed feel, workability, and shot making control. The design goal of the MP-63 was to retain the iconic head profile (head size, top line, offset, sole width), which Mizuno is known for and also prolific on the world’s professional tours, and make an improvement in feel and versatility in a “player’s” cavity.

Through the use of Modal Analysis, Mizuno studied vibration simulations of the head and experimented with several methods of affecting the sound and feel at impact. Numerous new concepts were then blind tested by Mizuno’s Tour Team, including Luke Donald, and the Diamond Muscle Design, which reinforces the head from heel to toe, was the clear winner.

The MP-63 features an innovative 360° grind on the back cavity and sole for a pleasing look at address and ideal turf interaction, while modified U-grooves, which confirm to the Condition of Competition 2010, produce the ideal spin rate in all conditions. Lastly, a progressive player’s cavity features a deeper cavity in the long irons for increased playability and a shallower cavity in scoring irons for pin seeking control.

Norcross, GA (September 29, 2010) – Mizuno, #1 forged iron in golf, announced today that they are launching the Grain Flow Forged MP-53™ irons featuring a Diamond Muscle design and “V” slot Milled Pocket Cavity™. The MP-53 has the head size, playing profile, and top line to please even the most demanding shotmakers, but what sets this MP iron apart is an innovative CNC milled Pocket Cavity (3-7 irons), which removes 14 grams of weight. This weight is strategically redistributed around the cavity to achieve the largest sweet area ever in an MP iron, delivering maximum playability in the long and mid irons, while remaining extremely versatile. The 8-PW utilize a Solid Power Bar design, further enhancing solid feel in the scoring irons while providing unmatched control and workability.

In addition, the MP-53 irons were scientifically designed through Mizuno’s use of Modal Analysis and Harmonic Impact Technology, which perfectly tunes the sound of impact to deliver the ultimate in feel. Paying close attention to how the sole interacts with the turf, Mizuno applied a 360° grind on the back cavity for increased shot making ability. This innovative grind also provides a thinner top line for an eye pleasing look at address.
