Adams Golf Introduces Idea Pro Gold Hybrid and Hybrid Irons E-mail

PLANO, TEXAS, May 14, 2008 – Adams Golf  introduces the latest offering of its successful and industry-leading Idea franchise with the new Idea Pro Gold hybrid and hybrid irons. Designed for better players, the premium set features two Pro Gold hybrids that deliver a penetrating ball flight and extra forgiveness along with six forged, tour-quality irons that deliver exceptional feel and workability. The Idea Pro Gold hybrid may also be purchased individually.

With its Idea hybrids ranking as the most-played on the 2008 PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours, Adams Golf engineers were able to canvass the tours with hybrid prototypes in an effort to gain feedback from the world's best golfers. The result is the Idea Pro Gold hybrid that utilizes advanced geometric shaping (known as Boxer Technology), an improved maraging steel face and an enhanced weighting system. The result is a new standard in hybrids designed for elite players, combining 5% more forgiveness on off-center hits with a 10% improvement in launch conditions while retaining the look, feel and workability that has made the Idea Pro hybrid the #1 hybrid played on tour. The 5-PW forged irons appeal to better players with a thin top line and sole. An 8620 carbon steel head is finished with a mirror-chrome plating that adds a premium look to the set. The constant offset through the irons offer better control for players wanting to work their ball flight and the 14% volume increase in the face grooves result in better accuracy and feel.

"We're proud to introduce the Idea Pro Gold hybrid and hybrid irons to consumers after thoroughly and successfully testing the product on tour for over a year in which we gained invaluable feedback from, not only or tour staff pros, but also hundreds of players with various swing types and launch conditions," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. "We're delivering a product that we feel has unique qualities and benefits that better players will appreciate and we're eager to strengthen our leadership position in the hybrid and hybrid iron categories with this new set."

The stock shaft for the Idea Pro Gold Boxer Hybrid is the Mitsubishi Rayon JAVLN FX 80-gram graphite shaft. The stock shaft for the forged irons is the Precision Rifle Project X Flighted steel shaft. The Golf Pride DD2 grip is the stock offering in the 8-piece set and the hybrid headcovers are gold and black striped knit socks from Rocket Tour. The 8-piece sets begin shipping to golf shops June 1 with a suggested retail price of $1,099 for graphite and $899 for steel. The SRP for the individual Pro Gold Boxer Hybrids is $219.
