If you make a ball go a long way it may make the classic traditonal older golf courses obsolete, but selling the ‘longest ball’ is good for business. The key issue here is, though, that the ball may fly longer but it does not mean straighter. 300 yards off the tee box may now be more obtainable for quite a few players, but that maybe also 50 yards further into trouble and indeed out of bounds. Golf ball technology has advanced enormously in modern times and now finding the right ball for your game could nearly be as advantageous as selecting the right clubs. | “I’d say I swing at about 80-85 per cent of my maximum power capacity. I never feel like I want to step on it too much and really try to crush a shot; not even with the driver. And to be honest with you, I think that’s a useful swing thought for any golfer, whatever their standard of play" - Ernie Els Dual US Open Champion ' 94 and '97 |
